How it works: Write on one word for five minutes. No editing. Then link up your post with the rest of the brave writers on Five-Minute Friday and encourage them by reading and commenting on what they’ve shared. {All the details for how to play along are here.}

Today’s word: Joy…

{Go}

Whatever else you do or don’t do today:

do not let the Enemy define who you are or what you are capable of doing;

do not let the Enemy’s lies seep into your heart or your dream or your relationships;

do not let the Enemy slink in and steal your joy;

do not let the Enemy’s smooth voice drown out the still small voice of the Creator who knows you, who created you, who loves you.

Did you hear that?

The Creator of the universe and of everyone in it loves you. Not the idea of you. Not the possibility of who you will be. Not the public face you show.

He loves you. You. He knows you. He sees you. He has plans for you and for your life. He loves you.

Be still and know him. Know the joy of knowing him. And being known by him.

Be still and let his truth, the truth of his love, rain down on you like a fresh, spring rain.

know his truth. embrace his joy.
know his truth. embrace his joy.

Believe his truth. His truth about who you are. His truth about what you can do.

The only way the Enemy wins is if we let him, if we let him take the words of the Creator and twist them so that they sound like truth. But the Enemy’s words will never be truth.

Did you hear that?

The Enemy’s words will never be truth. Because he is a fallen angel. He is not an equal of God. He is lies. He is smooth talk and he is desire for power. He is condemnation and he is shame.

But when you refuse him, when you refuse his lies, he loses. Every time. Every single time.

The Creator loves you and right now he is whispering his truth in the noise, in the desperation, in the quiet, in the solitude. His truth, his voice, is a breath away.

Be still and let his truth refresh your parched spirit today.

    1. Mari-Anna, I’m glad you stopped by today. Thank you for your comment.

      It seems so simple, doesn’t it? Not letting the enemy steal our joy? And yet, I fall pray to his wily ways too often. May you revel in God’s joy today. Blessings to you, too!

  1. beautiful post! loved the joyous picture 😉 you’re right..we so often confuse our thoughts and God’s for satan’s sabotage… thanks!

    1. Thank you, Somer, for taking the time to read and to leave a comment. Children just exude joy, don’t they? Glad I have two of them to remind me of that regularly!

I'd love to hear your thoughts. Leave a comment and let me know what you think.
