Then I said to you, “Do not be terrified; do not be afraid of them. The Lord your God, who is going before you, will fight for you, as he did for you in Egypt, before your very eyes, and in the wilderness. There you saw how the Lord your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place.”
In spite of this, you did not trust in the Lord your God, who went ahead of you on your journey, in fire by night and in a cloud by day, to search out places for you to camp and to show you the way you should go.
When the Lord heard what you said, he was angry and solemnly swore: “No one from this evil generation shall see the good land I swore to give your ancestors, except Calebson of Jephunneh. He will see it, and I will give him and his descendants the land he set his feet on, because he followed the Lord wholeheartedly.” (Deuteronomy 1:29-36)
(33/365 days of Fear Not)
Are you willing to give up everything for your God-sized, God-given dream?
Are you willing to surrender wholeheartedly to the One who demands your all?
When you decide to live out your God-given purpose there is no in between.
You’re either all in or you’re simply going through the motions.
There’s no faking it when it comes to realizing the bold and audacious dream for your life and God’s glory that God planted in your heart.
You have to be all in.
God doesn’t want anything less. In fact, He doesn’t accept anything less.
He demands all of you.
Then, He will carry you as a father carries his child.
Then He will go before you to lead you, to guide you, to find safe places for you to rest along the way.
But you have to be all in.
You have to trust Him more than you trust your feelings.
You have to hold fast to His promises and not to your fears.
You have to live by faith and not by sight.
He goes out ahead of you. He fights for you. He fights for your dream and your purpose and for who He knows you will be as you live out your heart’s desires. Desires that He placed there long before you were born.
When God plants a dream in your heart, He will give you the means to achieve it.
But you have to follow Him. You have to trust Him.
Because quite often, the path that He leads you along will be a whole lot different than the one you likely would take if you struck out on your own. It probably will be more arduous and seem impassable. It probably will bring you through as many valleys as it will inspiring vistas.
But it will be an incredible journey.
The God-given dream and purpose that we each receive are incredible gifts with which we can glorify the Giver of all gifts and with which we can bring hope to a hurting world.
But you have to follow the Creator wholeheartedly.
You have to believe.
Because becoming who God calls you to be and doing what God has designed for you to do will take nothing less than all of you surrendered to all of Him.
