Welcome to November and the first day of Write the Story!

I'm so glad you're here, but even more, I'm excited that you have decided to write the story that has been whispering to you, inviting you to show up and capture it word by word.

And that's why I chose the quote from Beatrix Potter for this first day of Write the Story! I love the sense of anticipation her words create for your first words of the story you are going to tell.

Even more, I love that they speak to every writer, whether you are a pantser or a plotter, because I fully believe that the story you're about to write is going to lead you in the directions it needs to go. I love the idea that we never quite know where a story will take us as we follow the characters along their path.

The stories we write are a lot like the stories we live. They are always unpredictable and even messy. But they also always provide us glimpses of beauty and possibility.

May you savor those first words as you begin to Write the Story! this November.
